About Us

During the pandemic, the construction business took a hard hit. This began the need to utilize the scrap metal from the steel folding door manufacturing process. So we started the collaboration with the product designers from Ciputra University, Petra Christian University, and HDMI (Himpunan Desainer Mebel Indonesia) to design the scrap metal to more valueable and mass produced items such an furniture, light fixture, and other building decoration items.

This upcycling process turns out very environmentally friendly and reduce steel waste form the factory while add more value and usefulness.

The design process began by combining Indonesian traditional material such as batik and cultural woven fabric with the scrap metal from the result of Laser Cutting process to make the parts of the door. The end product turns out very unique piece of furniture that cannot be found in other design.

This collaboration make us from Varialifestyle realize that we can also make a difference in reducing waste, more friendly to the environment while also give second life to the metal that usually sold to scrap collector by the bulk and then recast into lesser quality of steel material.

Now the design process also combine other scrap materials too, such as scrap wooden pallet, rattan waste, and recycled plastic. The essence of these whole process is “Be Creative”, so lets join us and #BeCreativeWithUs
